Make Your Work Play

You really have social disease when you make all your

play work. The only reason to play hard is to

work hard, not the other way around

like most people think.”

Andy Warhol 1928 - 1987, American Artist

As I see it. . . . . . . .

Make your work play

There is a time for work . . . . When you’re working apply the maximum effort to work hard to make the most from your efforts and your day.

The real secret of success is to make your work play. When you really enjoy what you’re doing you will never look at your career as work. You will view your career as play . . . . and that view of your career will keep you energized . . . . to open the doors to unlimited success.

Play hard . . . . make your work play . . . . and enjoying your life.

When you enjoy your career your career becomes play. Play hard . . . . and enjoy your life.

Make your work play . . . . and you will be on the path to successfully and productive career . . . . achieving your goals.

Lou - Most of my work does feel like play as I enjoy it and rarely dread it.  Sure, there are some difficult days, but those are rare.

It is all in your attitude!  Call it work or call it play, just get it done.

Lou...I consider myself one of the lucky ones...selling real estate in a resort area, to second home buyers and for second home seller makes for a more relaxed atmosphere to start...then throw in the expectation that skiing, hiking and other sports is part of the lifestyle...work can be play.

You definitely want to enjoy what you do.  But business is business and there will often be things that you simply do not enjoy doing but have to be done.  So figure out a way to automate and delegate out everything that you do not enjoy.

I think Rob Arnold 's comment sums up the reality for me and every agent I know. Do what you enjoy and delegate as much of the rest as you can!

Years ago my Mom asked me how I was able to work 7 days a week and I clearly remember telling her that for me it wasn't work it was play and I loved it...

Lou,

I live in the lovely resort town of Ocean City, Maryland!  This is the way everyone should live!  No stress!  Whether I'm "working" or "playing", who can tell the difference?  It's a fabulous life!

Lou: I love your positive attitude and know that I wouldn't have lasted 36 years in the real estate business if I didn't have a passion for what I do. Of course, there are times where there are problems that have to be solved, but I go after them with a positive attitude that they will get solved. Even though I may not know exactly how or when they will get solved, they always do for the best results for all concerned.

I believe it was George Burns who said he had never worked a day in his life.

There are days when my work is work, but most of the time, I'm just doing what I love to do. (Now if I could say the same about cooking dinner and vacuuming the floors...)

It kind of reminds me of what I heard a Pastor say one time about the problem in America, "We worship or work, work at our play, and play at our worship."

Like many of the commentators- I enjoy being a Realtor!--- sure there is good, bad & ugly but mostly "good" from my perspective... & that is the key word "perspective".

Some may look at it as "work".....I like to say- everyday I meet new potential clients & even future friends.

During the recession; many family members said to me; "why don't you find something else to do?" My answer was, and still is- "everyone needs someplace to live"- whether it's a rental or a purchase-housing is a commodity.

Great advice. The only reason most of work is to be able to enjoy our time away from work.

Oh, and we like to eat, too.
