End of week 10, but not the remodel

Dave the floor guy showed up today with the bottom step! It is sold as a kit and the manufacturer had us on hold for a few days.

Dave replaced the bottom step and stained it today. He also put the 2nd top coat on the other stairs. Tomorrow he will come in and put the finish coat on the kitchen, Dining room floors and the steps. The bottom step will be done by Monday. Yay! Since the kitchen and dining room floors and most of the stairs will be off limits Saturday, my wife and I are headed out to a nice hotel for Saturday night. We will let Dave do his floor work without us around. No heavy lacquer smell, clean sheets, and a clean bathroom. Probably should have done that 10 weeks ago.
