I am looking at our Association’s classes, and on Wednesday they offer “If You Can’t List You Can’t Last”.
Ouch. have to pinch myself to make sure I am still here.
I don’t list. And yet I hope to make it to retirement. Naïve me…But anyway, I am still here... Lenn Harley is still here...and Carla Muss-Jacobs is still here. And many others, who work with buyers either exclusively, or primarily...
To me this statement is a big lie. I believe there is a failure with logic.
If you list, and nobody sells, you still can’t last, can you? Someone has to sell it, so that you last. For each listing, there is a sale. And when this happens, not only you get compensated, but you pay the selling agent her/his commission. And then you both last.
What is wrong with the arrangement that some agents list, and some agents sell? By the way, it is a lie, that listing guarantees success. If you do a poor job with listings, they will not sell. So yes, you can list and still not last in this business.
Folks, there are agents who do not list. There are brokerages, that represent only buyers. And some are doing pretty well. As well, as those, who do good job taking listings. Don't tell me that those, who left real estate to work in WalMart only represented buyers, that's simply not true.
Yet to me it sounds like “You list, and then no worries, someone will sell it and you get the money”. It is shameful.
What about this heretic thought that those who excel in what they do, last whether they list, or whether they sell?
After all, it is not only what you do that matters; it is how you do it.
P.S. Which class should I suggest the instructor takes to learn simple things?
