Home Inspector with JRV Home Inspection Services, LLC HOI 394

Jenga postOne of the fun parts of being a home inspector is seeing the creativity of people. Some of the time, from an inspectors view, that creative passion leads the "artist" into unknown territory. Even dangerous territory. And then there are the instances where it just admirable and fun.

Jenga any one?

Good morning James,

Whom gets to pull first and a great picture.

Glad I do not have to back in there.

Make yourself a great day.

With a little more planning it could have been an easy way onto the roof as well :)

I nearly spilled my coffee as the photo loaded James Quarello . I'm curious to know it there was a matching column on the other end.

Raymond, The one who pulls the shortest straw :)

Charlie, Yes, i think it could :)

Tom, There are three of these "posts". They support a shed roof, nothng more. I found them to be a little unconventional, but fine.

That looks like a lego toy, ready to be kicked down.
I hope there's a metal pole hidden behind all of the lego toy blocks.

very unorthodox but I see in your comment that you checked it out and it passed. The HOA's out here would never let those be builit in a million years!

Don, It's kind of cool.

Rob, Yep. Very creative.

Jay, No time, I was working.

Lenn, Quite solid. Also it's only holding up a shed roof.

Nicole, Those HOAs, so conformist :)

Fred, It does look like fun :)

Dagny, I'm sure you could, you just have to find one :)

What was holding the pieces together???
If gravity, and pressure from the roof, were the only things holding this together, I'd give it a big WTF. It also looks temporary as the bottom of the beam appears to have had a trim piece removed...

Garrett, Thanks for your comment. I can assure you, these "post" were closely examined by me in person. Hard to "see" the whole structure from one photo. They support a shed roof, open on three sides, and anchored to the house. Nothing wrong here.
