**Reblog**

I don't really need a reason or encouragement to Pay It Forward. It's something I do my best to do whenever possible. I do enjoy it when doing good deeds are highlighted. By sharing our stories we can encourage each other.

I've been motivated to get involved in a new project. How cool is that?

Pay It Forward ActiveRain Challenge For December

Are you up for a fun challenge this month?  I know we are all caught up with our holiday plans, but surely there is time to jump into this challenge.  It’s all about helping others and I know that the family at ActiveRain is chock full of big hearted people who want to make a difference in their community (or even the world)!

For this challenge, we are asking you to get involved and help others in a “Pay it Forward” kind of mindset.

Do you love animals?  Maybe volunteer at the local humane society for an afternoon or the horse rescue in your area.  They can always use an extra pair of hands to groom, feed or clean up after the animals.  If you don’t have enough time for the “Hands-on” approach, you can always deliver some food or treats for the animals.

How about the homeless?  There are still many Americans who are living on the streets and not sure where their next bed or meal will come from.  With winter approaching, these folks need blankets, coats, gloves and hats.  Of course, they also need a hot meal.  There are many local organizations who would love a food donation or some help at the stove preparing a hot meal for those less fortunate.

Don’t forget about the elderly.  Many times, elders are all alone at nursing homes and have nothing to get them in the holiday spirit.  If you are musically inclined, grab a bunch of friends and share the joy of music with the elderly by singing Christmas Carols for them.

And don’t forget about those who protect us on a daily basis.  If baking is your thing, consider delivering tins of holiday treats to your local fire or police departments.

There are many things you can do to make a difference.
Let’s hear about them!

Simply post a blog of at least 300 words with at least one picture.  Tell us how your efforts helped to brighten someone else’s life.  All entries need to be in by December 31st.

The person with the biggest heart will be awarded 2,000 points, 2nd place 1,500 points, 3rd place 1,000 points and all others will receive 500 points.  Of course the biggest reward comes from knowing that you truly helped someone in some way.  This will make your heart swell with love and that’s what paying it forward is all about.

I am lucky enough to have some wonderful judges
help me with this one:

bob ratliffBob Ratliff from Cedar Park, Texas

rogerRoger Mucci from Euclid, Ohio

We can’t wait to read your entries.

Please leave a link in this blog with your entry which will open in a new window.  Have trouble with this???  Give us a call.  We will be happy to help you.
