Something I always hear from my clients in Bellingham WA and Whatcom county is that they want top dollar for their home. I totally agree. I educate them about when prices are higher during the spring and summer seasons and when they can expect the most for their home. However, I also have to caution them that their is a counterpart to this transaction that wants to pay the least amount for a home - the Buyer. I tell them that the common ground is set by the market and that the market really determines the prices. I inform them that there is something called a "sellers market" and a "buyers market" and that the market usually determined by supply and demand chiefy, however other factors do contribute, will determine the price of the home. It's a tricky conversation because many people want the prices of 2006 to come back. I have to remind them that was a bubble and not the norm.
