For the month of December my office held a coat drive to give back and pay it forward in our community. We sponsored a holiday appreciation party in our area for our local partners, realtors, insurance agents, title agencies and mortgage companies. We served a nice dinner, drinks and dessert. We provided a DJ and had raffles and door prizes. We asked each guest to bring a new or gently used coat to donate to our coat drive.
The coats we collected are being divided. We are dividing them into Men's coats, Women's coats and coats for children. We are donating these coats to our local homeless shelter and then some will also be going to our women's and children domestic violence shelter.
We have collected HUNDREDS of coats. We are beyond excited to give these coats to help keep people warm within our community. We will be able to keep so many people warm who otherwise may go without something as simple as a coat.
It is more than important to give back as much as you can within the communities in which you serve. We take pride in being a movement of change in Fredericksburg and help in any way we can support our community.
In addition to our local coat drive, Movement Mortgage holds an internal fundraising drive for the Toys for Tots campaign on a national level. Our company for two weeks asks it's employees to donate funds to this campaign. In just two weeks, Movement Mortgage raised OVER 86 THOUSAND dollars internally for the Toys for Tots Campaign. Now granted, our fearless leaders match the employee contribution but what a phenomenal amount of money being raised for such an amazing cause.
Movement Mortgage believes in being a movement of change in the communities we serve. This is our culture. This is a founding principle of our company.
Between the two drives this December we have been able to Pay It Forward to our communities and directly help the people within those communities.
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Therefore let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
