The time is approaching again for the ninth annual American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in Madison. The relay will be held on April 18th and 19th. They are already estimating to have about 500 participants in the relay. The proceeds will go to help aid local cancer survivors.
The relay works by teams of ten to fifteen members taking turns for twelve hours walking and camping out overnight. Each participant is encouraged to raise at least $100. This is a big event for the American Cancer Society in that around one in every five dollars raised comes from the relay for life event.
There is still time to join this worthwhile event. Even if you cannot organize a team in time for the event, individuals are welcome to join as well. To participate in the relay, call 1-800-ACS-2345 or call Celia Werner at 535-1088.
