Playing AR The Game !

By
Industry Observer TN LIC# 290452

Admit it !

Some stick around AR for the game !

The point chase !

Period !

They snatch their point totals

daily till their boring,

toady-suggested,

irrelevant front page post

is kicked to the back pages

and forgotten like most !!!

They suffer from serious back and neck pain from

sitting on their butts in front of their computers all

day copying and pasting irrelevant comments

while at the same time nickle and diming the tally

trying to catch up.

And they constantly curse the AR player

that stays one notch up in the queue

in the home state point stat like a bad sport with

Tourette's Syndrome.

Isn't that what competition is all about ???

If ActiveRain

did away with the gaming system

would you stick around ???

Tell the truth !

I predict many would leave

and board up the house.

The AR blandish brigade

need not answer this question !

Cheerleaders for industry

full of phony enthusiasm

don't want stains on their uniforms.

Group owners that abandoned AR have already

maxed out the headline feature star options on their

pages in an attempt to prevent new blog posts from

appearing in the groups that they've created !

That way they don't have to moderate any longer !

Maybe it's time to say goodbye to ActiveRain ?

I thought my razor was dull

until I read some of the featured posts this week.

This isn't real estate !

It's a ballpark full of foul balls !

Yes, it's all about the points for some...Not for me. It's about the SEO and networking which is much more important than the point system...

Then ask ActiveRain to kill the points system, Larry and Sheila. Would that impact your SEO and networking options ? Unscrupulous real estate agents play this machine like it's the Billboard Top 40 and points are payola.

Good morning David Saks.  Yep you nailed it with this one!  It's been over two years since I've participated in a contest (for points) or blogged daily.  When I have something to say I post when I don't, I don't log in.  I'm in this for the SEO and the business it will bring my way.

Good morning David,

If the points were gone and some people stopped posting relevant information that occasionally assist me or my SEO was gone than tes I would drop it like a hot potato!

There are a lot of good posts it is just sorting through and finding good material. Also would miss a lot of people I follow.

Make yourself a great day.

Looking for a great post is like looking for diamonds at the county land fill, Raymond. Thanks. It is a great day. Hopes for the same.

Thanks, John Mac. I have to admit, AR really does connect with the search engines.

David - I am with Larry and Sheila on this.  I have never made much of points. I have participated in contests and quite frankly, only the 'blog a day' ones, because once I commit to something, I finish. I did it to MAKE myself do it ... not for any points.

You're almost in a league of your own, Barbara. With over a quarter million subscribers to AR I'd believe that less than 25% even participate. Thanks.

Hi Dabid, I guess everyone has their own reasons and motives.  I'm not sure irrelevant posts would bring in business so those who only post fluff may not utilize their time to the max.

Profit from my two decades of experience

David, I think at one time or another I was trying to max my daily point totals, and quickly found out that pretty boring, what I do enjoy is connecting with others around the country and of course the knowledge base that exist.
