Sandpoint Movie Review - "It's a Wonderful Life"

Naples, IdahoAfter a very peaceful morning of finishing another batch of fudge Rain Silverhawk called and had a FSBO and recent sale she wanted to check on in Moyie Springs, Idaho.  Asked if I could go as she had not seen seller for FSBO before.  So the nice morning continued into the afternoon.  After getting back to Naples Idaho and an early dinner for myself I put in the classic "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed.

Not to turn this into a different story.  I have had a strange couple of months and one statement seems to keep popping up.  "A person can never step into the same river twice".  Both the person and the waters have changed since last stepping in, making it never the same.  Today was no different.  Put the movie in expecting it to be slow, and quite frankly a bit boring,  again.  It has only been at most, 2 years since last seeing it.

I found it overwhelming.  I also found it fascinating that George Bailey finds the greatest riches are in helping others to find their dreams.  He does so by doing exactly what we do as Realtors® and lenders.  A good loving family man with a loving wife devoted to him and family.  George Bailey's sacrifices are huge and yet they pale in comparison to what he receives in return.

If you have not seen the movie in a while you might want to watch it again this season.  Perhaps it was just me.  I found the movie quite entertaining along with statements of gratitude through out the movie.  Hope you enjoy.

I found it fascinating you haven't seen this before.  I must have seen it a dozen times as a kid.

Mark, ever since I saw it the first time, this movie has been one of my favorites. It is old, but stands the test of time.

Good morning Mark. It has been a couple of years since I saw the movie the last time, but never get tired of that classic.

I have seen the movie. It's OK. I'm glad you liked it. I do, too, at the holidays. You know it's great you helpled someone else out. It speaks volumes about who you are. Keep doing what you are doing.

I recently watched it's a Wonderful Life again.  I have to say this year it was different for me,  I found myself engrossed in the story in a way that was different from years past.  I was reminded how easy it is for some to be persuaded to let those with ulterior motives bail them out of trouble for a moment and then find they have given away all they needed for the future. I pondered this as I thought about my giving to others.  Is it for them or for me? How will my act of kindness help them in the future?  Will it lift them to a new plateau or keep them from reaching their goals?

The answer is that my gifts are based upon their well being and to my knowledge will never be acknowledged.  My hope is that someway they will be able to do the same for someone else.  My belief is that when you do the right thing, you have done the right thing.  Faith, Hope, and Actions...hmmm maybe I am a little bit like George!   Merry Christmas Mark!

Mark, It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favorites.  During those holiday times when I've felt a little, well, whiney, it's been a great cure.  Go Jimmy!
