Want to dine at the French Laundry in Yountville and forego the $325 tab, that's per person, for the chef's nine course tasting menu. Soon all you will need to do is buy one the California Lottery's new $10 Emerald 10 scratchers program, to debut Jan. 5., This special prize is for dinner for two coupled with a two-night stay at the Napa Valley Lodge.
To qualify, you must submit a photo of yourself with the scratcher card and compose a 500-character (or shorter) “story” telling who you will take to dinner with you, and why. Lottery officials are still finessing the rules. “We are looking for a really good story,” said lottery spokesman Russ Lopez. “Whether it is funny, sad or touching, it really doesn’t matter — it’s about the story.”
The one caveat here, the French Laundry is closing December 24th for a major renovation which could take up to six months. So any winners will have to contain their palates during this remodel. Till then bon appetit and cheers cvc
