I had the opportunity to attend a college graduation last week with a friend. Funny, I did not attend my own college graduation. I didn't want to have my family feel like they needed to come and sit for 2 hours in their own sweat just to see me hold a black book with a piece of paper to show that I made it. When in actuality, I made it whether I walked at my own graduation or not.
As I listened to this tall, skinny, lengthy gal give her commencement speech I heard what she was trying to explain to this crowd of thousands. Yes, I heard what she was saying. I tried not to critique her in my mind too much, but I even found myself shaking my head, yes. Although she didn't word everything she was trying to say perfectly in my mind I did agree with much of the point she was trying to get across. She spoke about how she didn't wait for this day, instead she has kept moving ahead everyday. She spoke with a smile on her face because she had made it to a point that for some health reason she thought she may never had made. The interesting thing to me is that she kept referring to the fact that she didn't wait for this day. And she isn't waiting for things to go wrong to change the world. She is going to try to use the mind she was given to change the world and she isn't starting now she has already started. That was awesome.
Don't wait for the right time, just proceed.
