Moving to my New Resort For Christmas in Vanuatu

Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Gold DRE #00697006

My husband sent me a text message this morning asking if I was leaving Eratap Resort today. Why, no, it's tomorrow on Christmas Day, I told him. I have a massage scheduled this afternoon. Hmmm . . . he could swear my agenda that I gave to him before I left Sacramento reflected a change of resorts today. Well, today is Christmas Eve, and I don't go to a different resort until Christmas Day. Oh, what the heck do I know? I'm running around the beach barefoot drinking champagne and sleeping face down in the sand.

Sure enough, I called the front desk to ask if they are kicking me out today. Yes, they are. My transportation is lined up to take me to The Havannah on the other side of the island. Good thing my husband is on top of things for me. I spent part of this morning answering emails, reviewing estimated closing statements and assuring sellers we will close on time. I forgot all about my own schedule. LOL.

You can read more about my fishing expedition yesterday and see photographs in Thoughts About a Christmas Tree in Vanuatu.

Christmas is definitely a state of mind, and it can be quite wonderful with or without a tree.

This year I minimized my holiday decorating, putting up a tree with no ornaments.  Felt like too much work.  Perhaps I'm starting the slide to no Christmas tree too.

Hi Norma: Merry Christmas to you. Someday I will have a referral for you in Palos Verdes.

Hi David: You make me laugh. Well, at least I have a couple of hours to pack and it's not 10 minutes. But I could probably do it in 10 minutes but I'd be wearing half of my clothes inside out on my head, dragging a row of dangled assorted cables.

Before you know it, Chris Ann, you'll say to the hell with the whole thing and go to the islands too. One year, it's a tree without ornaments . . .

This has been a really odd feeling holiday season for me.  I've had little motivation to decorate or even get into the spirit of it all.  I can't remember a year when I've been like this.  Like Chris Ann Cleland my tree is small and has few decorations.  When I talk with other folks, they mention having similar feelings.  Perhaps, it's having "lived" with the holidays in stores, since before Halloween, that has done it.  We are already tired of it before it actually arrives.

It's a good thing that your husband is on top of things, Elizabeth.  We wouldn't want you to be homeless on Vanuatu on Christmas.
