Home Staging Tip: Closets

What? We have to stage our closets too, argh!!!” I can hear you moaning now.

Consider when you are looking at houses, do you open the closet doors? Yes, you do, and cabinets, too.

If you saw a closet that looked like this. Would you possibly think, “Hmmm, maybe this house doesn’t have enough closet space.”

Don’t worry though, the solution is easy, and you need to start cleaning things out for your eventual move anyway!

Start out be getting rid of anything you haven’t worn in the last year, this is accepted as a general rule of thumb with organizers. Donate those clothes or give them away.

Next, remove clothes that are out of season. Place those clothes in waterproof storage bins, and either place in an attic type storage space or, you may already have an off site storage space. If all else fails, ask a friend to hold onto them for you.

Last, organize what is left into very neat sections. Buy any organization solutions that could help finalize the overall look.

Now, isn’t that much better?

What a great and concise post! Anyone looking for a new home wants more space or - if downsizing - space they may utilize well. A FULL closet says - NO ROOM IN THIS HOME!

Have a happy day -
