Ah! It's Christmas Eve here in the Lake Havasu community. Tonight, the kiddos will be waiting up, hoping to spy a glimpse of Santa as he leaves presents by the tree. Tomorrow, gifts will be exchanged and unwrapped. You have out-of-town guests that will be here through the entire weekend. How will you keep them entertained? Take them to the 2014 Lake Havasu Desert Fireworks Shootout this Friday and Saturday.

The 2014 Lake Havasu Desert Fireworks Shootout is the very first event of its kind here in our Havasu community. The Arizona Pyrotechnic Association will be hosting a fantastic public display of pyrotechnic excellence. Spectators will have an amazing time watching as professionals shoot off mortars, roman candles, aerial displays and much more.

For the more adventurous type, consider becoming a "shooter". For just $60 in advance ($75 at the gate), anyone who is at least 18 years old will be allowed to shoot off any of the fireworks they purchase at the shootout in specially designated areas. Only AZ Pyrotechnic Association members are allowed to shoot fireworks. Your fee will buy you a membership. All shooters must be completely sober or they will be turned away. Fireworks can only be lit up in the designated area. They are not allowed to be taken outside this area or put in your vehicle.

Shooting off fireworks and watching the displays high above can work up an appetite. There will be food and beverages available for purchase on-site. Parking is provided absolutely free of charge.
