Well, my decorations for Christmas are all down.  I started on Thanksgiving weekend putting them up and today, Saturday, 12/27/14 - the decorations are all down and put back in their nice little storage boxes back in the basement.

Seems like it took longer to put away than it did to put out the decorations. Well, as my grandma use to say, "out with the old and now prepare for the New - New Year".  She even has a prosperity dish that she use to serve us which consisted of black eyed peas, greens, and corn bread. - It's a famous Southern tradition for prosperity in the New Year!

The black eyed peas - stood for the coins you were going to have and the Greens stood for the money you would have and the cornbread represented the Gold you would have. You had to make sure you ate at least 365 peas - which represented for each day of the New Year!

My thing was - "Where's the beef?" - I like meat with my greens and cornbread!

What are your traditional dishes? Do you do something special for New Year's Dinner?
