Posting on Active Rain is a fun activity. You make connections with other professionals and you learn from others expertise while sharing your own. Active Rain is a great platform to network with others and spread your wings. It's also helped me hone my writing skills.
About a month ago I was approached by a journalist to share my experience with Zillow. I know Zillow, Trulia, and other vendors who offer services to real estate agents sometimes get bad reputations, but I think part of this reason is because we don't understand how to best use these services. Are they perfect, not by a long shot, but they are here and they can be great resources if you understand how to use them properly.
This journalist wanted some insight about how to best use a Zillow Premier Agent subscription. I orignally pointed him to my blog post about Free Advertising on Zillow. This lead to a phone conversation that lasted about an hour, and then I was asked to evaluate the final draft of the article before it went live for the rest of the world. I added my comments and suggestions for changes and the article was finally published.
When everything was done I had three featured "Pro Tips" in the article and was one of two agents featured in the article written to help other agents effectively use Zillow Premier Agent if they choose to subscribe. It was a real pleasure to help out the journalist and I hope some agents get more value out of Zillow Premier if they decide to use the service.
