What: 2015 North Beach Polar Plunge
When: January 1st, 2015 1pm
Contact: Town of North Beach (301) 855-6681 or (410) 257-9618
It is that time of year again for the North Beach community: the annual Polar Bear Plunge. The 2015 North Beach Polar Plunge brings in people from all over Southern Maryland as they jump, splash, dip or swim in the Chesapeake Bay. Hundreds of crazy people participate every single year. Some people dress up in crazy costumes and others simply wear their swim trunks or suits. Everybody has a fantastic albeit extremely chilly time.
After the "plungers" have rocked the frigid waters, they and their guests get to enjoy a nice hot cup of cocoa. Warm up around the bonfire while roasting marshmallows. Listen as the "plungers" regale their guests with the tales of their bravery against the elements. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Autism Project.
Whether you want to make the plunge yourself or would rather cheer your favorite "plunger" on, come to the 2015 North Beach Polar Plunge on Thursday, January 1st at 1pm. This is definitely a sight you will never forget. Today (December 30th) is the last day to sign up. You can register online right now for the 2015 North Beach Polar Plunge and pay via PayPal. Contact the Town of North Beach for more information.
