Tips For A Successful 2015

Services for Real Estate Pros with

As we enter a New Year, it is important to review what we did right in 2014 and what we can do better in 2015! Here are some marketing suggestions to help you start 2015 with a bang.

Make a limited time offer.  As a business incentive to potential new clients,  you might consider reducing  your commission a bit , offering to cover some of the staging costs for their home, or helping with the  upgrade costs of an open house. Make these time-sensitive , value added and exclusive offers to your prospective clients in order to secure new business leads and launch your 2015 sales.

Clients love swag!  Spend time (and some money) to insure your promotional items are updated and have appeal to today's customers.  You want to provide items that will not be tossed into the garbage immediately.  Update and make your merchandise items "current".  Select useful products (calendars, recipe books, office items, smartphone accessories) that effectively promote your name and services day in and day out to your clients.

Rethink open houses.  Are they targeted to the right audience? Are you addressing the primary needs of the prospects who have an interest in the property? Is it better to do an open house after work hours to reach commuters?  Should Sunday open houses have more flair to attract qualified buyers?  Each property is unique, and the approach to open house marketing must be just as innovative and memorable. is here to help you have a successful postcard campaign. Call, click, or chat us! Hi Ginger - We've heard a couple different definitions for what 'swag' stands for, but yours is probably the best! Usually it refers to gifts given to VIPs at events, galas, and award shows...and that's how we think customers and prospects should be treated as well :)

Hi Rob - Smart phone accessories could include anything from phone cases, to car chargers, to microfiber cloths used for cleaning phone screens.

2015 is a new year to start or pick up where one left off in 2014. A time to rethink branding and promo items for sure. Your suggestion of reducing commissions is not a great idea as a limited time offer as it discounts our professional services. Once out there as a discount agent it's out there permanently. Otherwise, great ideas.

You are so right.  Everyone loves receiving something of value.  I love the idea of reusable bags, with a tasteful logo.  Dallas has banned paper and plastic bags at all grocery stores and many other stores we frequently visit.  I'm going to jump on this one!

Your swag determines your personal value proposition and it's intangible IMHO.The challenge is to use a marketing plan to effectively and consistently reach your target markets.

Some good ideas.  The problem with reduced commision of course is that means we are discussing it publically and may be considered an Anti-Trust violation.

I need help coming up with an EDDM postcard. Does expresscopy design them?

Jan 05, 2015 01:20 AM (design, print, and mail postcards!) - Portland, OR

Teri and Gene- Thanks so much for your feedback, that's a great point.

Lanre- One idea might be to offer a discount if a client agrees to work with you for both selling their current home and buying a new one. Or perhaps you could work with a local interior designer/remodeler to offer clients a special on renovation or decorating services when they purchase a new home.

Liane- We can definitely help you with that! We have thousands of free, customizable templates that can be used for EDDM, and we do offer a la cart design services if you want something designed just for you. Please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-260-5887, one of our reps would be happy to walk you through the process of setting up an EDDM campaign.

I used to create my own branded i-phone cover case.  Every time I use my phone in public, I make a point of laying my phone upside down to show my branding!
