Looking for family-friendly FUN for New Years??? Keep on reading...
What better place in the world than to spend New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day than Denver, Colorado, ranked as one of the best cities in the world by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network. Home to nationally recognized art museums, performing arts centers, thriving business organizations, great housing market,  and some of the most gorgeous scenery in the U.S., Denver offers a fascinating variety of New Year’s activities to accommodate families looking for fun things to do kick off the New Year in 2015.

New Year’s Eve Fireworks in Downtown Denver

Take the family to watch the sky light up in a blaze of colorful, sparkling fireworks on December 31 over Denver’s 16th Street Mall. The first show begins at 9 PM and the final show explodes at midnight. Also adding even more festivities to the celebration will be costumed entertainers performing for the crowd, balloon artists to delight the kids, magicians and stilt walkers.

New Year’s Eve at the Butterfly Pavilion

This year, the Children’s Museum of Denver is moving its New Year’s party to the Butterfly Pavilion where you’ll see New York City-style ball drop complete with confetti and bubble wrap. This is a great event for younger kids who might not be able to stay awake until midnight. In addition, the Butterfly Pavilion drops the ball every half hour so all kids will be able to see it. Also if you are a member of the Children’s Museum, admission to their New Year’s Eve party is free.

Zoo Year’s Eve at the Denver Zoo

Countdown for New Year’s Eve at the fabulous Denver Zoo begins at 9PM so little ones can enjoy the thrill of ringing in 2015 and still make it home in time for bed. See the famous Zoo Lights display, go crazy at the dance party, be dazzled by the magic show and watch your kids get transformed into wild animals when they have their faces painted by professional artists.

Commitment Day at the State Capitol Building

Every New Year’s Day, Denver holds its Commitment Day 5K walk to emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through fitness activities. The Commitment Day 5K walk is a family-friendly, mini-marathon that is also a simultaneous event happening in other cities in the U.S. on New Year’s Day.

Blossoms of Light at the Denver Botanic Gardens

Blossoms of Light is a vibrant display of lights highlighting the Botanic Garden’s natural beauty in winter. Visitors are provided with HoloSpex glasses to enhance the experience and refreshments are also available.

Denver’s Downtown Aquarium

Bring the family to the Downtown Aquarium on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day and enjoy a fascinating experience viewing dozens of exhibits featuring over 500 different animals. Special exhibits include the interactive stingray touch tank, At the Wharf and the Rainforest. There’s also the Aquarium Restaurant, the Nautilus Ballroom and geographic exhibits to amaze and delight the entire family.

Skate the Lake

Evergreen Start the New Year’s off with the kids by going to the Skate the Lake event in Evergreen! This is a SUPER-fun New Year’s Event that my kids and I have experienced.  Skate on Evergreen Lake, see beautiful ice sculptures, enjoy yummy food from local vendors and enjoy the fireworks!

Learn How to Fly at iFly

Take the family skydiving on New Year’s Eve–well, not really skydiving but close enough to the real thing! iFLY is the ultimate, indoor skydiving simulation that re-creates free fall conditions experienced while actually skydiving. iFLY uses a vertical wind tunnel that generates a powerful, wall-to-wall air cushion on which your family can float safely and securely. No experience is necessary and even children as young as four can “learn” how to fly at iFLY.

I hope you enjoy these recommendations and have a FABULOUS and BLESSED New Year!!!
