Candy Cane Lane

Tonight may be the last night to catch a glimpse of Candy Cane Lane this year but don't worry it will be back again next year, and the next, and the next... The street is a popular one for many locals to visit during the Christmas holidays but for the hundreds of new visitors each year, you'll find all of the holiday light displays at Candy Cane Lane is actually Minervia Road in Cathedral City.

Each year the homeowners on Minervia Road, a short street of about 50 homes, decorate their homes to the max as a way to share and enjoy the holiday spirit.

Candy Cane Lane/Minerva Road in Cathedral City

Through the efforts of one homeowner on the street, John Elliot, the City of Cathedral City issued a proclamation about Minerva Road on December 10th. They are also going to place a year round street sign topper above Minerva Road that reads "CANDY CANE LANE".

I'm not sure how the Candy Cane Lane tradition for the homeowners of Minerva Road started but I'm always sure to mention the fact to perspective home buyers when showing homes for sale on the street. Yes, I have actually sold a home on Minerva Road!

As we say goodbye to 2014, may we see more joy and good health in 2015!

What fun to live on Candy Cane Lane.  I love viewing these types of streets where the owners get in the holiday spirit big time.
