If you have an afternoon off in Denver, CO this Wednesday January 7th we recommend checking out a one day special at the Lone Tree Arts Center. The Vive la France exhibit will take the center by storm as part of the weekly Arts in the Afternoon event. The Event Hall is located at 10075 Commons St and will begin at 1:30pm. Being involved in Denver property management affords us opportunities to check out exhibits like this when in between showings and appointments.
The two main artists on prominent display will be Elizabeth Mckenna Greenberg and Kelly McSweeney Zuercher. Arts in the Afternoon is a series of weekday afternoon concerts and performances designed to transport you out of the ordinary. This particular concert will transport the listeners to the City of Lights accompanied by pieces from LeClair, Saint Saens, Franck and Debussy. A delightful and surprising performance that encapsulates the French baroque, classical, romantic and impressionist styles, this violin and piano duo should bring a wide range of styles to your ears.
This intimate series will allow the listeners to talk with the performers after they’ve finished, allowing for some networking and social opportunities. Refreshments will be included in your ticket price, so staying afterwards is encouraged. The reflection period is very crucial to the artists as they continue to tour after this visit. Tickets are $18 and are available online and at the door. The day of the show the tickets will be $20. It is rumored that there will be excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen and some pieces by Chausson. We recommend attending if you have an afternoon to get away.
