OMG Please Unsubscribe Me From Comments

Unable to Unsubscribe

photo credit: <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/fadderuri/710287127/">FadderUri</a> via <a href="http://photopin.com">photopin</a> <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/2.0/">cc</a>This morning, I commented on what turned out to be a heated post.  I was just interested in maybe following a few comments to see which direction the post was going to take.  Well that's not entirely true.  Experience had already taught me that the post was going to end up being a discussion between the writer of the post and other agents that were removing their "professional" hats in order to take part in the discussion in a way that was, let's just say "unbecoming" to "professionals."  Don't get me started on the use of the word professional (Jane Peters might come after me on that one).

 

Anywho, after a while I tired of the bashing and name calling and attempted to "unsubscribe to comments" by unchecking the box at the bottom of the screen.  Whew, that was the end of that conversation or so I thought.  Within in minutes of unsubscribing, I received an email notification of a new comment.  What?  This couldn't be.  I unsubscribed to comments or did I? When I went back to the post (I was already logged in) and lo and behold the little box was still checked so I unchecked it again and refreshed my browser but after the refresh, the box was still checked.  What the heck is really going on?

 

Knowing that Chrome doesn't always want to cooperate, I decided to open my IE browser and went through the steps again to "unsubscribe to comments" but to no avail. All of this was before 11:00 this morning including contacting AR and asking them to HELP!!!! and here I am at 6:00pm  still trying to unsubscribe to stop the madness.

What's the lesson here?  Well for me, it's don't subscribe to comments.  From now on, I'll just try to remember to check back without the benefit of subscribing to comments (at least for now).  I'm not sure how that will work out considering the state of my STM.

BTW, I stopped reading the emails around none and just started deleting the emails.

Mike when I used to subscribe to comments, it was only for a short while and notification on just s few comments. After that, I would just I subscribe. So today was driving me nuts.

So Tammy you so you had the unsubscribe issue too? I think I'll do the same from now on and go back to "my comments" and check back on the post.

I read the other post. While I might not agree with all you said the best thing about this business is that we are all capable of handling buyers and sellers whether representing them or not. Actually tired of listening to buyers agents that say they are the only way to go. Has no one heard of ethics?

I think you have me confused with someone, Charita. I have no opinion on the word professional. . I guess I must have made a comment somewhere. Good lesson learned here. I never subscribe to comments anywhere.

It used to be kind of a joke about real estate agents slining around the word "professional." I wrote a post about the use of the word professional a while back and you used to rag me about it. It was a long time ago. Funny how I can remember things from years ago but can't remember what I ate for breakfast this morning.

Well I think I finally got it figured out.  I made another comment on the blog that I want to unsubscribe to, then I unchecked the "subscribe to comments" checkbox and then I hit submit.  And now the box is still unchecked.  Hopefully this will work become I am still getting notifications this morning.

I also never subscribe to comments and how come the "professionals" have that much spare time to be fighting on the computer.  Exhausting.

I have found sending email to support doesn't work well and I usually never get a resolution. I am glad that Kerrie was able to help you out. I wonder what happened to the support number.

Depending on what Email agent you are using perhaps this will work. 

I am running MsOutLook.  I copy the subject line of the message then I create a receive rule saying in human speak.  If I receive a message with the subject line of "xyzzy......" then put it in my Deleted folder right away without telling me.

I use this a lot for all the wonderful people trying to sell me stuff, hgh qulity byer and cellar leds, mentorship et all.  I will try to unsubcribe once, i make a note that i did it.  If i receive any more messages from them "!!!!into the dungeon with them!!!!"
