It Pays to have an Agent who Networks

Networking and attending marketing meetings can be very beneficial for both the listing and buyers agent.  Example:  In November I had a nice couple who was looking to purchase a Ranch Style home, and the only requirement was a front porch.  Sure, they would like hardwood floors, but that was not a requirement.  The Association that I belong to (Aurora Association of Realtor's) has a weekly marketing meeting where we hear from a speaker and then pitch our listings, as well as buyer wants and needs.  I stood up in November and said I had a buyer and this is what they were looking for, as we had seen everything on the market.  Another agent who I know from the board stood up shortly there after and pitched a listing of a home that was perfect for my buyers.  They purchased it, and even the lender was an affiliate member of our Association.  Below is a recommendation from that buyer who is elated to have their ranch style home with a front porch, and the entire main level has hardwood flooring.  I  love it when I can find the perfect home for a buyer, it is so rewarding!

I am ashamed to admit I USED to attend the weekly MLS meetings faithfully. Got a lot out of them, and met some great people. Now I rely on the web, and my 18+ years of experience. I need to re-evaluate my scheduling.

Anyone can watch MLS but networking sets an agent apart and enhances the business activity.

NETWORKING WORKS!!!Thank you for pointing out how important networking is. I believe it is important to network with more than other real estate agents. I am a member of a very successful BNI (Business Networking International) which meets weekly. We are 50 people, one from a variety of different professions. Not only have I done a TON of busines with these people AND from REFERRALS from this group, the level of service I provide to my clients has increased significantly because of the help I get from these other professional.

I agree with this blog totally!  Our office does something similar during our weekly meeting--we go over 'buyer needs'. Glad it worked out for you and your clients!

Great example of how networking works!  It works for the buyer, seller, listing agent and buyer's agent.  Sounds like you made your client very happy.  That will pay off in future business for you as well.  Congratulations!

Job well done,   Christine Yedo Johnson !  This house looks like it is in pristine condition, with an open floor plan.  I love the ceiling detail.  How wonderful that the Buyers also got their hardwood floors. Your testimonial is well deserved.

I'm not sure if I've ever heard of an agent who wasn't good at networking. So essentially's days to not only have your ducks in a row, but to know the ins and outs of each of the ducks, so to speak.
