Stowe, Vermont - Home Sales Market Report - 2000 through 2014
As real estate brokers, we are often asked "so, how's the market?" During 2014, we could sense that the home sales in Stowe were picking up. After finally taking some time to crunch the numbers, I can affirmatively say the YES, the market is picking up!
What do I look at to come to this conclusion? Mostly just the facts.
1. The Number of Home Sales in Stowe in 2014 were up 8%
2. The Average Number of Homes available for sale in 2014 was down (just a tad) by about 1%
3. The Average Sale Price of Homes Sold in Stowe was $598,870. That's about 9% higher than 2013.
The Median Sale Price of Homes Sold in Stowe was $485,000. That's about 23% higher than 2013.
This is when the good old econ theory of Supply and Demand comes in. Demand has been down for several years but is coming back. As a result - more sales, higher prices, and a lower inventory.
I still feel that Stowe is a buyer's market. With the continued low interest rates, it looks like Sellers will do better in 2015 and buyers will continue do well.
