It's snow folks!
Fernandina Beach and Jacksonville had about an inch of snow in December of 1989. My son who was 14 at the time made a video of the neighborhood and of kids playing in the snow. During the video, Matt often stated: "It's snow folks!"
Since we had snow flurries here today (January 8, 2015) I thought I'd share a few statistics about snow in Jacksonville, Florida.
- The last trace of snow was on December 26, 2010.
- The last measurable snowfall was December 22, 1989.
- The most measurable snow on record (1.9 inches) was on February 13, 1899.

Snow usually occurs here about every 6 years.
