I have only been doing real estate for a short time now, less than a year. It has already occurred to me that in most cases the location and neighborhood of some ones future home is just as (if not even more) important to a homebuyer as the home itself. People want to know they are going to step outside their home and still love where they are standing. This is why, being that my office is in the heart of the absolutely beautiful and multifaceted Rockville Centre, I have decided to break down for you exactly why, no matter what you are looking for in a home town, you will fall in love with Rockville Centre. To list every single reason to move here would take a few years and a novel. So to express to you the diversity and uniqueness of Rockville Centre I have broken down 15 Categories I will break down with you on a weekly basis. Again, only giving you a small taste because there is just way too much to go through in one blog. Categories ranging from places of worship, to nightlife and restaurants will be examined.
I decided to start with dinner options as a category for why you should move to Rockville Centre because I believe it is pretty safe to say there isn’t a soul on long island, or at least in Nassau County that hasn’t said “lets go to RVC for dinner tonight”. When looking for a wide variety of dining options Rockville Centre is, hands down the absolute best! Below I have listed just a small handful of unique and absolutely delicious options you can find in this beautiful town.
Parlay is a relatively new gastro pub located at 210 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre. A gastro pub is a pub that specializes in serving high-quality food, and high quality food this place certainly delivers! I tried this place recently during a girl’s night out right before a friend of mine moved to Colorado and I had a really great experience. The inside is beautifully designed and the food was fantastic! I tried some the southwest flatbread pizza and I highly recommend it. We also shared the passion goblet, which tasted as good as it looked and tried one of their forty craft beers. Not sure which beer you would like to try? Order a flight so you can sample a few. So much fun and such great food and service. Though I have listed this place as a dinner option they have a really great brunch as well that’s definitely worth checking out. I would like to thank Jessica Matarese, one of Parlays marketing associates for being so accommodating with sitting down and meeting with me and supplying me with all the information and photos needed to compete this portion of my blog. She was also kind enough to supply me with a printable gift certificate that you can print directly from my blog and bring with you to your next trip to parlay!

When I first started this blog I did not have Viaggio on my list because they are brand new and I hadn’t yet heard of them. I put it on my list because my brokers, Judy Hart and Elizabeth Wallace absolutely raved about it, and I am so glad they did! Not only did I get to sample great food and drinks but also I met some truly awesome people! Viaggio is a tapas place featuring Spanish style food. As a matter of fact, about 80% of their ingredients come from Spain. I had a chance to sit down with the executive chef Alex Bujoreanu. Alex was born in Romania but grew up in Spain and had three restaurants there so all of the food is very authentic. I could tell from talking to him that he takes great pride in his work and it certainly shows in the intricate flavor combinations in the food that I tried here. I tried the Confit Garlic Shrimp and the Lamb Meatballs with Port Sauce and not only were they delicious but beautifully presented. Viaggio doesn’t only have fantastic tapas they also have great full size options, sharable options and unique libations. Maia Moore, Viaggios bartender was so kind and so knowledgeable of the wine list. She had nothing but great things to say about her owners and managers. Being a server for so long myself I know how important it is to like and respect the people you work for, it makes the experience so much better. Maia first gave me Graton Cellars Chardonnay and than made me a specialty beverage called Ronnys Hard Lemonade, which is made of Reyka Vodka and fresh limejuice with malbec and anchor reyes reduction. Delicious! I wasn’t only impressed with the food here but the service and atmosphere was just so above average! I also met Ronny Jaramillo, Tony Depalo and Roseann Vercillo, three of the five owners and managers of Viaggio they were so kind and informative. I did not get the pleasure of meeting Marco Tolentino and Hartley Parish as they were not there the evening I visited, but I plan on being a relatively regular customer here so I’m sure I will sometime soon! Viaggio is also planning on starting a brunch menu on February 7th. If you are going to try this place out I suggest making reservations to their holiday party. The owners put together for me $25 dollar gift certificates available as a welcome to the area gift for people who purchase homes in the area through Century 21 Sherlock Homes!

Press 195 is such a great and unique option for any time of the day. I actually had a hard time deciding whether I should categorize this under lunch or dinner. This restaurant maintains a full service dining feel and featuring delicious, high quality and healthy options. My favorite entrée to order is the quinoa and spinach salad, its refreshing and energizing just perfect for lunch. They have such a great selection of craft beers, for example, LEFT HAND MILK STOUT, which Brian Karp was so kind as to allow me to sample, making it great for a night out as well. Press 195 originally opened in Brooklyn in 2002. Then a second one was opened in Bayside Queens in 2005, which is still open today. Since Rockville Centre is a hot spot for businesses, being it’s the place to be for so many long islanders, Press 195 owners (Brian Karp, Chris Evans, James Volz, John Annechino), like many business owners, wanted to be a part of it and opened a location right here on Park Ave. New York Newsday rated them best fries, they have a 23 Zagat rating and have been featured on the food network. This restaurants fame is growing for a reason. This is absolutely a must try! Not to mention they have take-out and free delivery. So living people living in Rockville Centre on a cold winter day can get one of the best sandwiches long island has to offer delivered right to their door step! Thank you Brian Karp for allowing me to incorporate a great coupon to your restaurant into my blog!
