ActiveRain Community Guidelines

Reaching OutEarly on in the existence of the ActiveRain network, Guidelines were established to give new and the older seasoned network members a track to run on. Much like the Code of Ethics that REALTORS® subscribe to, to belong to the Local, State and National Associations of REALTORS®, the Guidelines are established to encourage respect both professionally and personally in our daily interactions with our peers as well as the internet community at large.

The ActiveRain Guidelines are three pronged. The first being about building and supporting the community. This section is clearly about how we act and how we both develop trust as well as demonstrate trust in our peers. It has great latitude in our experience sharing ability and strong limits of what is not acceptable behavior. 

The second prong is about respecting and honoring our respective professions. While we are all practitioners of real estate related services, we are all charged with respecting the real estate industry in a manner becoming to the profession and ourselves.

The Third prong is the guideline that honors protected classes and insures that no statement, attitude or other expression crosses the line of the Fair Housing Law Ethos.

The ActiveRain Guidelines when taken in total are as much about fair play and common sense. They extend in common language the core ideas of the National Association of REALTORS® Code Of Ethics. Violate one and you are pretty much assured that you have violated the other. 

Embrace these Guidelines. They are in place to remind you and exposes our entire network to the public that our community is transparent and professionally inspired to provide the very best information about real estate yesterday, today and tomorrow.
