Sales of homes with acreage were strong in 2014 - there were 299 sales, ranging in price from a low of $69,825 to a high of $2,500,000, with a median price of $328,250 and an average price of $400,145. Average days to get an offer for the homes that sold was 117 days, with an average days on the market of 157 - acreage properties usually take longer to sell than homes in town. For these 299 homes, the sale price/list price ratio was 95.8%.

One acre for horses??  My goodness.  Loudoun County requires only 3 acres recently reduced, about 5 years ago, from 5 acres.
