Active Rain Community Guidelines - Not just for Active Rain

Mark I agree that many of what's written is common sense...but I've heard that's not so common : )

You're right, though, with as many members as there are here in the rain, there is only a very small number of people who don't always abide by the rules.  We have a great community.

You have said what so many of us are saying...this is a great community. 

It took a while to get everyone on the same page and to explain common ethics. You would think that would not have been necessary given who is blogging.

I must admit, I have called out members for putting links to their posts or websites in the comments section.  They are usually great about removing these things once they read the guidelines....and I am not the snotty little girl in the second row....I just want this all to be fair.  Great post, Mark Don!

I believe that most people here abide by the rules even if they never read them. Just generally speaking we are a group of good, courteous people. 

Your comment about "slander" is well taken.  However, over the years here on ActiveRain, I have been surprised we haven't seen more of it than we do! The outside world thinks the real estate profession is a cutthroat business.  For the most part I've been pleasantly surprised by the camaraderie and the willingness to share information and experiences.

Just ask Mark, we are not cutthroat in every company.  I have been thru a few before where Mark and I now call home and the culture is so entirely profound it is a pleasure to work each day.

That kind of makes sense too – doesn’t it.  I can see how someone might use some content in a members only post and use it as a launching pad for their post. In any event we all need to be made aware of the guidelines and follow them.

Just read this post on the 2nd to the last day of this month and this contest. Not too sure I can cram this contest into my month as I've just run out of it. However, I do have time to reblog this great post. Love it.
