Canned Press Releases - Not A Good Idea

By
Mortgage and Lending with i Cantu Media LTD

The other day I asked a collegue if he had anything he wanted to throw up on my press release service. He hands me this pre-written press release from his agency. The only thing he wanted changed on it was his name and address. This was a canned press release that he had permission to use.

No big deal.... right?

I am sure the agency had good intentions. But a lot of MLM type companies will do this too and before you know it you have the same press release, (minus the contact information ) gumming up the search engines. Only a small handful of these will ever get indexed -- if any. Google is tightening down on what gets indexed and that includes canned press releases.

The social media world is not as rigid on this.

But when it comes to submitting press releases into a paid service it is better to re-write it.
