CO2 Detectors Save 7 Lives just hours after installation

Home from a weeklong holiday the family of 7 walks in the door.  The odd smell and cold home alert the father to check and relight the furnace, but he notices soot around the burners that he does not think belongs there.  Warming up and putting away the weeks laundry and toys..he mentions that his wife should call a furnace repair man in the morning.

Thankfully the repair man comes right away in the morning...and asks if they have carbon monoxide detectors on each floor..something the family  had talked about but never done.  He tells her the furnace will work for now..but he is not leaving until she goes to the nearby store and gets two. Period.  Thank goodness for the man who cared.  His test shows no gas now, he orders the parts needed for the permanent fix..puts the batteries in and goes on his way.

11:30 pm the alarms go off. 7 people are evacuated into the cold by the fire department, with levels high enough to kill the little ones.  Saved by an angel in a contractors truck.  Two women in Lindstrom Mn. were not so lucky this weekend, they were found after not showing up for work on Monday.

How many life saving devices cost less than $20.00?   Save the agony..ask your family, your in laws, your aunts and uncles..your elders...do you have Carbon Monoxide detectors..and if they don't...buy them one..much cheaper than a casket.
