My friend, Lee, tells me that the swans are in full force near Monticello again this year.
And, thanks to the late Sheila Lawrence who started feeding the swans 25 years ago, and now her husband, Jim, who with a local foundation helps make sure that these majestic fauna continue to thrive on the Mississippi year each winter and keep us locals and some not so locals enthralled.
Last year I wrote about this and there was a swan cam you could watch. I tried to access it this, but failed. You might be able to see it here though.
At any rate, there are thousands of swans who feed at 10:30 am at Swan Park, and, if you would like to check it out, click this link.
I am going up to see Lee on the weekend, and I am definitely making a stop at Swan Park first.
Hope you enjoy the sights of thousands of swans swimming in open water on the Mississippi!
Best, Ron
