Bark Island has become a popular event in Hernando County providing dog owners the opportunity to spend some play time at the beach with their canine companion.
It takes place on select Saturdays throughout the year, a schedule of days is available at the website if the Hernando Parks and Recreation Department.
Each Bark Island is a two hour event and there is an admission charge of $7.00 for one dog per car. Each Additional dog per car gets in at the reduced rate of $3.00. Annual passes are also available.
Other Things to Remember!
Proof of current vaccinations and licenses are required for each dog. Dog owners are expected to clean up after their dogs if required. You may let your dog run loose but It is recommended to keep animals on a leash if you may suspect they might act up or get too excited around other dogs or people.
