Sensible Shopping for the Best Real Estate Agent
Finding the right real estate professional is a very important task and should not be taken lightly. Every day your home is on the market is one day closer to you moving into your dream home. You should expect alot from your agent. Do not accept your home being listed, added to your local MLS, sign in the front yard and then you sit and wait. You want, and deserve, a professional who actively markets your home. Here are some a few things to consider when searching for the right agent and during your interview process.
- List price: Ask what “he or she” thinks your home should be listed at. You do not want an agent to just agree with what you think your home is worth or the amount you would like to get out of your home. If an agent agrees with your exact amount, you may want to ask more questions. You do not want an agent to take your home as a listing and then if just sit on the market for months because it is not priced to sell. A good agent knows the local market and will be honest with you.
- Marketing: Ask what their marketing plan is. This should include more than placing a sign in the yard and having an open house. Today’s society use their the internet to find everything! Including their next home. Your agent should be heavily marketing your home online on many different sites.
- Speciality: Ask what their speciality in the wide world of real estate is. You do not want a commercial specialist listing your residential home.
- Can you talk to past clients: By asking for references from past clients, you can learn alot about the agent. Ask if they marketed their home as promised. Ask about the communication they had with the agent and their team throughout the process. You want to be in the loop at all times. After all, it is your home.
