4 Little-Known Social Networking Features to Try!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with RealSupport Inc.

With unique features and occasional updates on the major social networking websites nearly all of the time, our Real Estate Marketing team understands how trying it can be to keep up! These little-known features can easily get bypassed, but can also have a large impact when utilized. We’ve listed four of our Real Estate Virtual Assistant team’s favorite “hidden” social media features on some of the most popular sites:

  1. Save links on Facebook to read or review at a later time. The majority of Facebook users post links to articles, videos, podcasts and many other “off-site” forms of media. Oftentimes, particularly if you’re connected with colleagues and others in the real estate industry, these articles, videos and other media can be interesting or even valuable to you! However, updates can quickly get lost in a populated newsfeed and if you’re not at a place where you can further explore the posted link (or you’re on limited time), you can now save it for later. Simply click the downward arrow at the right-hand corner of the update and select the “Save” option. You can then go to your home page and click “Saved” in the left-hand column later on, when you have more time and focus to take a look at what caught your interest.

  2.  Add a Slideshare presentation into your Tweet. If you use Slideshare as an extra tool for virtual tours or as a mobile-friendly listing presentation, then this is a great piece of information to know! You can now embed your Slideshare presentation directly into a Tweet and followers can easily scan through it without being taken off of your page, away from Twitter or directed somewhere else. Just link the presentation or video from Slideshare into your Tweet and it will automatically embed, keeping your followers engaged and on your Twitter feed.

  3. Find relevant real estate conversations on Facebook. Did you know you can search keywords as well as names in the Facebook search box? Everyone knows that you can use the search box to find a person, group or business page, but you can also enter a few keywords – such as “Chicago real estate” – to find public newsfeed posts containing this phrase. You can then opt to connect with or invite them to “like” your page as you choose, so you can encourage more conversation or connect with a potential prospect.

  4.  Add private notes to your LinkedIn connections. This CRM-like feature allows you to add private notes to each of your LinkedIn connections, so you can review and remember your last conversation or other important information about the person. Click “Relationship” right under the person’s profile photo and add a quick note, a follow-up reminder or even a few sentences on how or where you may have met, using the corresponding tabs. Anything you put there is only viewable by you and inaccessible to anyone that you may be connected with. This feature is also available to both free and premium accounts.

What makes social networking so exciting is that there are always new features being developed and helpful tricks to get the most out of your online marketing as possible!
