How To Rank your Real Estate blog on Google

In my previous blogs we have talked about the following titles:

Should I do a Real Estate Blog

4 things to consider when doing your Real Estate Blog

How to Format your Real Estate Blog

You can click on the links and go back and read them. If you just follow those steps, you have a good chance to rank on Google. But what I am going to tell you next, will take you to the next level.

Blog SEO

Have you ever heard of the term “backlink”? It is a term used when another website has a live link to somewhere on your page. If you click the term backlink above, it will take you to the definition, so I have inserted a backlink to wikipedia’s page. The more backlinks you have coming from RELEVANT web pages, the more likely you have a chance to rank on Google. I say relevant for this reason. You can go to websites that provide 500 backlinks for $5. Those backlinks can come from any type of website, cooking, blogs, porn sites, political sites, anywhere. Those are not relevant, and if Google finds out, will actually hurt your page rank.   So how do we use backlinks to improve our SEO and our PageRank?

Find other real estate blogs that you can guest blog on. This will give the other blog fresh content, and it will give you backlinks. A Win – Win. Some blogs that I use are Trulia (well not anymore),  here on Active Rain and Biggerpockets.com. You will have to pay a premium on Active Rain to have your blog be public, but if this is something that you are making a part of your real estate marketing, then it is a good idea.

So what do you do? You just copy your blog and paste it in the guest blog. You will have to make minor adjustments, like manually add your links back to your text, or adjust the picture, but that’s it. You already have created the content, now spend some time putting it out on the web. I have 9 blogs that I guest blog on. If you have real estate friends that are blogging, ask if you can do this. By using this tactic, I was able to rank to page one of Google for two different search terms. It took some time, but I got there.   Have you noticed in all of these blogs I have backlinks to my Real Estate CRM? I am giving out some good information, and creating Google Juice for my company TrackTheLead.com.

Remember from one of my previous blogs, How to Format your Real Estate Blog , I showed where to put those back links to the search on your website.  With the multiple links you have going to that search page, from multiple blogs and blog posts, you will gain traction with Google.

So go out, and BLOG ON my friend!

Johnny - Great information on backlinks. The trick is to find those other quality real estate sites where you can post your blog on. Would be nice to have a list of them.
