I think that this is for all of us old dogs in Real Estate. Real Estate is a fast changing business as we can see everyday. It isn't just the new technology that is affecting the way we do business, but the unethical business practices of some of the new agents as well as some of the older agents too.
Too many people get their license just to get in and then get out. They do not ever stop to think of it as a profession. It really hurts the rest of us who want be be know as Realtors. For those of us who continue to educate ourselves, go too conferences, and go above and beyond the call of duty because we consider it a privilege to be called Realtor. We are not your typical real estate agent and we never will be.
I hope that we can make some important changes in the near future before some of those real estate agents who should not be in the business anyway give the rest of us a bad name.
Now to some of those old dogs who have been in the business too long who stopped growing years ago and don't want to do business the ethical way and don't think they need to learn anything because they already know it all.
I think we will see those who do not want to play by the rules and do not want to have ethics in this profession disappear just like they did in the sub-prime failure. It is not about the money. It's about people and values, and it always has been.
