Snow Scare...Bread, Milk and a Power Inverter

This morning I stopped by Lowes on my way to the office to pickup a couple of bundles of woods and some pellets for my pellet stove insert. The place was crazy because in Greater Boston area we are getting a storm warning that is calling for over 2 feet of snow.

One of the things I just checked out was an inverter. An invertere is simply a device that takes 12 volt DC electricity that found in a car or off a car or marine battery and turns it into 120 volt AC power like that in the receptacles in your home.

Inverter

I ended up purchasing a 750 watt inverter which will allow me to power up and run my pellet stove off of a deep cycle marine battery that I have. The inverter I purchased also has a USB port which will be great in the event we do loose power, at lease the kids will be able to use their gizmos.

I could not see running out and buying a generator without much research, but could justify this since I also had a $10.00 credit for Lowes.  I eneded up paying $59.00 and I already owned the battery.

Now I will be able to power up some phones, ipads and keep the pellet stove running.
I will selling real estate remotely in the blizzard....cheers

Good afternoon Michael,

Here is hoping you get less snow than they expect and it is not another "Perfect Storm."

Make sure you do research a generator as you may not need it as much as you think.

Make yourself a great day.

David Popoff I wish we were still in the old days. Things were a little less complex. As I sit here and write this to you, I am charging up to backup battery chargers for my cell phone too...times were a little easier.

Michael,

Our power has never been out for more than an hour at most; so no we do not have one.

I had a store in the early eighties that if you sneezed the power was off for longer periods and that I did purchase one for.
