Charlotte Crittenden is fast becoming a popular regional dance caller who has recently called at Old Farmer's Ball, River Falls, Grey Eagle, Chattanooga and Sautee. Her enthusiasm is contagious!
Master cittern player Joseph Sobol and power- house fiddler Trae McMaken join forces to create a great ambiance on the dance floor. The duo melds various music traditions in honor of their American and immigrant roots; Celtic, Nordic, and Appalachian. Joseph and Trae have performed extensively on their own and with leading traditional players and singers at such events as the 2002 Celtic Connections in Glasgow, the Swannanoa Gathering, the White Stork Festival in the Czech Republic, Milwaukee IrishFest, Chicago Celtic Festival, and many more. Since breaking out their instruments in a session in East Tennessee they have been exploring the dynamics of fiddle, cittern, guitar, banjo and voice for regional community contra dances.
Beginners, singles and couples welcome.
Beginners should come promptly at 8 pm, since we start with easier dances and more teaching.
