Sybil- I love downtown Milledgeville, it's fun. And as much as I complain about parking when I do down there when the college students are in town, I really enjoy watching the young people enjoy downtown.
Hi Tammy, thanks for sharing a bit of history of Georgia with us, I had no idea Milledgeville was designed to be a state capital.
Good morning Tammy. Thank you for sharing more Georgia history, always appreciated. My learning is starting early.
Tammy, thanks for the history lesson. Always fascinating to visit these old buildings. If only the walls could talk! Enjoy your day!
Tammy, You always write great localism posts. Thank you for the history lesson.
Hi Tammy - this is very interesting information about Milledgeville Georgia- County Seat of Baldwin County, and that is the only town build to be a state capital. I am sure I would enjoy seeing both buildings, sounds like so much history.
You have such a unique gem in Milledgeville and the Capitol Building. I would love to visit there, if only to have lunch with you!
Tammy Lankford,
Eatonton, GA
That makes perfect sense on capital and capitol.
I will try to call you later when I get home...my bluetooth stopped working (at least the sound...so I can't call while driving). Yet another thing to add to my list.
Tammy - thanks for that history. I did not know that Atlanta was not always the capital. But the real take away was your grammar lesson on capital and capitol.
I love to tour old historic buildings like this and there is a lot of history to learn here. Thanks for sharing Tammy.
Hi Tammy, that does sound like a nice place to visit.
