East Coast Blizzard Manifests Teamwork for 2015

Photo: ZUMAPRESS.com

The blizzard has passed, all is well and no power outages reported (that I am aware of).  Taking a metaphysical perspective on storms, you could say at first glance they may feel like they are something to fear (and depending on the strength of the storm and type; yes, you may need to be aware). Yet it could also be safe to say, that is a fear based perspective.

I found it interesting, the blizzard of 2015 manifested a strong community and family gathering of help. Teamwork is the word to highlight. People listened this time and the local authorities stepped up with pre-warning and messaging local communities with a plan of action for the public to follow. This helped tremendously lesson stress with the impact of the storm. Clean up has gone smoothly and continues to.

Perhaps we all learned from Hurricane Sandy with how to prepare and work more efficiently as a team, as well as not to under estimate Mother Nature and take things for granted. Some complain that the last two years have been the worst. Yes, our weather patterns are changing because the Earth is evolving so we need to adapt and do the same and let go of the complaining.

Thank you for being gentle with us, we are listening.

Glad to hear all went smoothly! There is a lot of complaining about incorrect forecasts and unnecessary travel bans in some areas, but you are right -- everyone DID come together to alleviate potential trouble.

Hey Roger and Kat, yes it did :) If people choose to do the same old thing, repeating the same old habits that didn't work in the past, well, chances are you will stay in that mind frame. Change is always happening, so its' best to embrace. Makes life a lot easier.

Happy day!

Good evening Luara.  Glad you personally weathered the storm well and the area.  Change and learning is difficult and yet very impressive when accomplished, no matter at what level.  And I just remembered I promised you some photos of a sold listing.  Mark

The warnings seem to come much earlier giving plenty of time to plan and stock up. People take it seriously and listen to the public officials.

Laura, events of the size that affect an entire city can have less of an impact when there's "teamwork". And you are so right...complaining...is a waste of effort...just do what needs to be done!

When I am very prepared, it never seems to be as bad as I think it's going to be.
