Old Fashioned Candy Store In Laguna Niguel | Powell's Sweet Shoppe

I first learned of Powell's Sweet Shoppe in San Luis Obispo when my daughter was in school at Cal Poly. My first visit to see her included a nice tour of the city and she was so excited to show me Powell's Sweet Shoppe. Last Christmas I realized we have one right here...in Laguna Niguel.

Entering Powell's Sweet Shoppe is like walking into a scene from a children's movie...like Willie Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

The aroma hits you right at the front door. It's the smell of chocolate and childhood. The Shoppe is full of brightly colored candy of all kinds. Specialty, novelty and well known options for a sweet lover of all ages is presented by friendly staff. My goal was to fill the advent calender with a different candy for each day....not hard to do at Powell's Sweet Shoppe.

Powell's Sweet Shoppe has options beyond the caring for your sweet tooth. There is a Party Room where you can host Birthday Parties and other events. Their website shows smiling faces that enjoyed a Wine and Chocolate Night...clearly Powell's is not just for kids.

Powell's Sweet Shoppe also offers Candy Catering. Ever wonder about those beautiful candy buffets seen at weddings or corporate events? Well Powell's can arrange your own candy buffet....I'd like to have that in my living room, but I'll resist. :)

Powell's calls it the "coolest club in town"! It's their Candy Club. Get points for just eating candy? Ok....sounds easy.

Powell's Candy Shoppe is located at the corner of Oso (Pacific Park) and Alicia at 27000 Alicia Parkway, Suite E. Worth the visit...and I'm grateful that I no longer have to go to San Luis Obispo to get my sweet tooth cravings satisfied.

Hi Karen Fiddler, Broker/Realtor   as a kid we had an old time pharmacy with the soda fountains and the candy jars where we could get penny candies. Too bad Powell's Sweet Shoppe is so far away, I could be a kid again

Powell's Sweet Shoppe sounds wonderful. How's their licorice selection? That's my downfall!

Hi Karen, I like the chocolate candies also. But I love the interactive maps at the bottom of the page as well.

We have an old-fashioned candy store here. It is a big hit. Especially, at Christmas and Easter.

I wish I could have a bag of penny candy from my childhood.  Your post took me right back to going to the store and getting a handful of candy... a fireball, a mary jane, whatever that brittle white and brown striped one was, a gum with a comic (how I would love that right now) and taking it with my money to the counter and getting a little small brown bag and then choosing which piece I wanted after dinner each nigh.   Thanks Karen, that was a nice trip down memory Lane.  I'd love to visit your old fashioned candy store.

I'm very happy to live so far away from this sweets shop! Otherwise I'd be tempted to be in there every day of my life!
