By
Real Estate Agent with UNITED REAL ESTATE | Central PA RS193539L

If you are looking for a home that will jolt in value, you may want to have your agent find you a home near Starbucks.

Who spends $5 on a coffee and who drinks Starbucks coffee?

People with money who buy expensive real estate in booming residential areas.

Starbucks

According to the most recent data, in all likelihood living near a Starbucks means your home should appreciate in value more quickly than homes in further-out neighborhoods.  Market trends tracked for the last 17 years, show a 96% increase for homes near Starbucks versus a 65% increase for homes that are farther away.

Starbuck locations in south central Pennsylvania neighborhoods, or any other neighborhoods, are excellent indicators of rising property values in the region.

Call your agent today to find a great home near one of the two newest Starbucks locations in south central Pennsylvania.  "Bet" you'll be glad you did.

Good evening Bette Gottwald , I love their white chocolate pepermint mocha.  I'm glad it's not closer than 5 miles away.  Your probably right. They researched upscale neighborhoods to put their businesses.

Bette Gottwald I have heard this exact statement before a few times. The trouble around here is that there are Starbucks everywhere. Me, a tea drinker. I buy it by the pound loose and get a cup for about 10 cents, no joke.

Bette, interesting.  We will have to rethink the locations of Starbucks and maybe some other establishments in relation to income and housing.

Hi Larry Johnston, it's not likely you will see a Starbucks in the ghetto.

We have two new locations within a mile of one another Noah Seidenberg .  I'm a tea drinker as well, buying it loose at Wegman's.

Silvia, Whole Foods is another business that researches up and coming communities before making the move.

Peter, yes it is.  It is interesting too, Starbucks gives back so much to the communities.

Tom, As I was working out early this morning, I heard a news report about Starbucks and the increase of market value of homes, and of course I had to research it further.

Hi Bette,

I heard the same news re4port today and have to consider the source! LOL! In the more expensive downtown areas in Austin the local coffee houses are favored over Starbucks but than that is Austin:).

If the shop is in the walkable areas, then yeah, it's a no brainer.  And many people look for just that.

I've never thought about this before, but here in southern CA there is a Starbucks on every corner - maybe that's why homes are so expensive!

Dorie, Starbucks seems to rule in our region.  Yes, I did consider the source, but had also picked up the same stats from another source a while ago,

Carla, Most of the Starbucks in our area are in the suburbs, but yes, I can see where the walkability score would be a no-brainer as you mentioned.
