So I know I am a little late to the party, but after an incredibly busy January I wanted to jump in on the Ringing and Singing in the Rain contest being put on by Debbie Reynolds. Deciding who would be my first call was an easy choice.
My pick was Jon Kolsky. He was the first member here on Active Rain who reached out to me through email and text after I had first joined. Being a newbie he helped me navigate through the many questions I had when I joined the Active Rain community. I learned so many things about Jon during our conversation which lasted over an hour but seemed like much less time than that.
Jon made a decision in 2010 to take the step in his career to launch an online internet presence. His first step was to sign up through Zillow as one of their preferred agents. He sought to receive lead generation and to blog content to help people in his local market gain tips and understanding of real estate related topics. His experience there did not end up being what he had hoped for and he quickly found himself frustrated and a little discouraged. It was during this phase he was introduced to Active Rain.
Despite being a little jaded by his first online experience he gave Active Rain a try and found he had a much better experience. His goal and desire to put out relevant content to help the public gain insight and understanding into his local market was quickly reached. He found himself learning from the other members blogs, and was quickly embraced into the Active Rain community. The most exciting result, however, was he found his voice though writing and fell in love with the process. Writing was a foreign method of communicating for Jon when he first started his online journey. It took him a little while to warm up to the process but five years after joining, Jon now has 59 featured blogs and remains a strong presence here in the AR community.
He is now taking his real estate career to the next level and testing for his Brokers License. Anyone that knows Jon knows that he will be a knowledgeable and caring mentor for any agents that would be lucky enough to hang their license under him.
Any new members that are looking for help should not hesitate to contact Jon. He is a great and friendly resource to go to. As for those home buyers or sellers looking for assistance with any real estate needs in the Long Beach area, Jon Kolsky is your man!
