Here are some fun things to do in February in Arizona - I think there is something for everyone - there are pyrotechnic shows, gem and fossil shows, fantastic arts shows and The Super Bowl! I hope that you will find something that is perfect for you. Jan 16th - March 29th - 11th Annual Arizona Fine Art Expo - Scottsdale - Southwest corner of Jomax & Scottsdale Rd Visit over 100 nationally acclaimed fine artisans working in a studio environment as they give hands-on art demonstrations and workshops. Jan 17th – March 29th - 25th Annual Celebration of Fine Art - Scottsdale – Located in the big white tents on Hayden Rd and Loop 101 Freeway, (exit 35) this 2 month long show is billed as one of the “premiere arts events of the west” ! You can watch over 100+ juried artists create & sell their original works. Jan 23rd - Feb 1st - Arizona Sun Country Circuit Quarter Horse Show - Scottsdale - WestWorld - This free event is one of the top ten American Quarter Horse shows in the nation. There are youth shows, jumping, cutting and reining competitions and more. Jan 26th - Feb 1st - 79th Annual Waste Management Phoenix Open - Scottsdale -Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale – This is one of the PGA Tour's top events, with some of the largest crowds on the tour coming to see some of the finest golfers in the world compete. $20/day or ticket packages, 8 am - 6 pm, 602-870-0163 or http://wastemanagementphoenixopen.com
January 30 – Jan 31st – Glendale Chocolate Affaire – Murphy Park, Glendale – Who doesn’t love chocolate? At this, one of Glendale’s most popular events you can tour the nearby Cerreta Candy Co. for free or sign up to take a writing workshop hosted by one of many professional romance writers! And there will be plenty of treats like homemade fudge, sweet-potato fries with chocolate and chocolate dipped key lime pie. January 31 – February 15th – 61st Annual Tucson Gem, Mineral and Fossil Showcase – Tucson Convention Center – Celebrating 60 Years of Diamonds, Gems, Silver and Gold - This annual event is the largest gem and mineral show in the United States taking place at more than 40 sites across Tucson! There will be lectures and seminars as well as dealers!! http://www.tgms.org/
Feb 1st – Super Bowl 49 - University of Phoenix Stadium, Glendale – As of this writing the cheapest tickets are being sold for $7,000.00! It should be a great game http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/49
Feb 6th – Feb 8th – 3rd Annual Surprise Fine Arts and Wine Festival – Surprise Recreation Campus. Feb 7th -Heritage Square’s 35th Anniversary and Motoring Thru Time - Phoenix - Heritage & Science Park - Celebrate Heritage Square turning 35 at this free family friendly event with the grand opening of Phoenix RE:imagined and Motoring thru Time with beautifully restored antique and classic vehicles of all shapes and sizes on display in historic Heritage park in downtown Phoenix, Free. 10 am – 4 pm, http://www.heritagesquarephx.org/events/
Feb 7th – 63rd Annual Great Canadian Picnic - Phoenix - South Mountain Park - Celebrate Canada Week at this annual event. Feb. 7th – Feb. 8th – Street Eats Food Truck Festival – Salt River Fields, Scottsdale With over 50 food trucks serving up an amazing diversity of foods, great wine beer and cocktails it will be a foodie’s playground! Feb. 7th – March 29th – Arizona Renaissance Festival – Apache Junction – Open Saturdays and Sundays as well as Monday, 2/16 from 10am – 6pm This has been an Arizona Tradition for 26 years. This festival takes place in a Renaissance Village recreated in the Sonoran Desert off of Route 60. This beautiful setting is home to much wildness and revelry with various shows going on throughout the day and plenty of food and shopping opportunities. Feb 8th - 27th Annual Willo Historic Home Tour & Street Festival - Phoenix West of Central Avenue between Thomas and McDowell Roads from 1st-7th Avenues. Here is a great opportunity to view a variety of homes from Tudor to Spanish Revival, Bungalow to Ranch, from the 1920-1940’s. Feb. 8th – Taste in Tempe – Tempe Center for the Arts Amphitheatre - At this event guests will stroll along the lakefront while tasting dishes created by a variety of Arizona’s finest restaurants while sipping fine wines and beers and attending wine seminars. Feb. 12th – Feb. 15th – 26th Annual Western Winter Blast Pyrotechnic Show – Lake Havasu In honor of the 26th Anniversary of the Western Winter Blast the fireworks displays are promised to be the best ever!! Feb 14th - Feb 15th -59th Annual VNSA Used Book Sale Phoenix - State Fairgrounds - This is one of the nation’s largest book sales! Feb. 26th – March 1st – 51st Annual Lost Dutchman Days - Apache Junction - This annual event features 3 days of professional rodeo, a carnival, a parade, a Rodeo dance and continuous music. Feb 27th – March 1 – 20th Annual Carefree Fine Art and Wine Festival – Downtown Carefree Over 165 acclaimed juried artists present their remarkable works at this event.
