Serendipity Sunday – What is Your Attitude? Does It Need Adjusting?

Serendipity Sunday – What is Your Attitude?  Does It Need Adjusting?

As the real estate market improves, I see some behaviors from realtors and brokers that are reminiscent of the mid 2000 market, and it concerns me.

We are all doing what we are called to do but from our own viewpoint.  Where is yours?

Do you need an "attitude adjustment"?

Is there still some concern for the client in all your decisions, or have you gotten to the point that you need that paycheck?

We all, at the end of the day, want to be able to provide for our families, but, with any luck, we still have within our dwindling group a stand of realtors and brokers who will still compete with fairness and a sense of decency.

Who will make certain that, whatever the cost, the client receives the best representation and the best of everything the realtor or broker can deliver?

Let's make certain that whenever we deal with the public and each other, we all treat each other fairly, respectfully and with the most courteous and ethical conduct we can.  Our reputations rely on it!

Suzanne Jeff Dowler CRS  hit this right on the nail with his comment. Clearly we have fiduciary responsibilities and it does not include attitude, just sayin, Endre

Great post, Suzanne. I won't go into one transaction I recently closed. It was a shame. The other agent stomped all over it, but we finally got it done.

Good morning Suzanne. My experience has been that most on AR, have a wonderful attitude and others of course, but when I encounter folks that don't have a good attitude, I get away from them.

Make it a great week!

Joe Petrowsky It is so true that most of the people that are attracted to the Rain are very giving, honest and forthright!  Thanks for a great comment.  Have a wonderful week!

This is a very important topic. One of the most difficult aspects of the real estate business is dealing with some of the agents.

Suzanne, of course there's always been concern about a pay check, but I can honestly say that it has never interfered with the way I conduct business on behalf of my clients. I attribute my success in real estate to thinking about my clients first then my needs.

Good evening Suzanne McLaughlin , I have notice the same thing around here, where the agents don't think twice about taking your clients away from you, leaving you high and dry.

Lewisburg WV, the go to agent for all real estate

We have a lot of agents in our small area, approx  200 and I'd say over half are part time and are in it for the money...thinking it is an easy paycheck...and don't care about their clients as much as the paycheck.  Population in Lewisburg is around 4800.

Suzanne, I hear people proclaim they are going to get into real estate because the market is so good and I cringe. Those are exactly the type of people - many of them - who do not need to ever be in real estate.
