There is a local program that I want to highlight again that can help those who need a little extra assistance. I have volunteered here many times, and I can tell you that it is a wonderful alternative to those who need a little extra bang for their buck on their food bill.
Fare For All has thirty locations in the greater Twin Cities metro area where the food packages are sold once a month. All the locations are cash and carry – there is no need to register in advance. Click here to find the location closest to you or click here to see what sales are coming up this week.
This organization offers value, variety and nutrition in the packages. There is no “junk” fooed. The packages will never be the same from month to month as their supplies change, but there will rarely be something that you can’t use.
Contact them at 763-450-3880 or find them on Facebook if you have additional questions about the specific foods they distribute. Fare For All accepts cash, credit, debit, and EBT cards. They do not accept personal checks.
The following packages are available at all locations:
Produce Pack $10 – Often contains potatoes, onions, carrots, along with additional varieties of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Mini Meat Pack $11 – (Formerly known as Meat Only) Includes a variety of 3-4 frozen meat items, such as: turkey, beef, chicken or fish. This pack is most often pork free.
Combo Pack $20 – (Formerly known as Regular Pack) Save an extra $1 by combining the Produce Pack and the Mini Meat Pack.
Mega Meat Pack $25 – Includes a variety of 7-8 frozen meat items, such as: beef, chicken, fish, pork or turkey.
I hope that Minnesota residents can find this helpful. There are no qualifications or income restrictions; the program is open to everyone. No pre-registration or pre-payment is required.
All the food is purchased through wholesalers, manufacturers, or growers. The food, depending on the season, is either locally grown or sent from all over the country.
Please pass this information along to people who can use it….and you can use it yourself….there are no income restrictions!
Best, Ron
