I have been a real estate agent since May of 2002. For the first 2+ years I was with Scott Douglas Realty in Tulsa, OK. And that was great. It was a small, boutique style brokerage that trained me well. (Shout out to Randy Lindemuth and many thanks.)
Then I returned to Kansas City, Olathe specifically, and hooked up with Keller Williams Realty, Diamond Partners, Inc. And for 10+ years, that too was great.
But the new year brings new challenges and excitement. I've opened Ad Astra Realty, Inc. Right now I'm the chief cook and bottle washer. But we have four agents with their licenses in transfer right now and my goal is to have that to twenty by the end of the year.
My background, of course, is mostly in working with real estate investors in Kansas City. So Ad Astra Realty will be maintaining that niche specialty. We also currently manage 254 homes in and around Kansas City. You can check us out at KC Property Manager to find out more.
The real challenge will be bringing in agents in the "normal" real estate category and providing them with the individualistic training and services only a boutiqe real estate company can.
My view from a brokerage of 6 people and my view of a brokerage where I was the 42nd agent that grew into nearly 300 agents is also different. It's been a fun ride. I hope to take the best of both worlds and create a challenging, unique and profitable brokerage experience for just the right mix of real estate agents.
It's a new position for me and a new challenge. I'm excited about it.
