PGA West in La Quinta

This past weekend I went to visit my Mom who lives in La Quinta in the desert.  It is about 140 miles from Newport Beach. It was such a beautiful couple of days, and not only did we enjoy the Superbowl, we definitely enjoyed the climate. It was about 80 degrees during the day with much cooler weather in the mornings and evenings.

It is so lovely there with the incredible mountains and the beautiful crystal blue sky.

We went to visit some friends at PGA West who have a home there and had a wonderful lunch. Then we had a tour of the entire area, which is stunning (I can honestly see the appeal). PGA West has 6 golf courses, and there is so much to offer the home owners.

One of the courses is called the Arnold Palmer Private Course, and we took the golf cart over there as the Big Horn sheep come right on down on the course to eat the grass. They have no fear of the golfers, and it was enjoyable to see the sheep sharing the space with the those playing golf. These big horn sheep are also very skilled at climbing the rock mountain in a hurry!

They they started running and it was fun to see them in action, they are gorgeous. The males have the larger horns. They are so beautiful and so tame!!

This alone would want to make me take up golf!!

I can definitely see the allure of living in the desert, the flowers are gorgeous, the sky is crystal blue and the backdrop of the San Gorgonio Mountains. It does get pretty warm in the summer, but that is why so many snow birds come to this area.

Had a great weekend with my Mom! We both love Football and it was a great game, the last two minutes were very exciting!

Good morning Sharon. I'm sure that the bighorn sheep in your area get to be as much of a bother as the white tailed deer do here.

Good morning Sharon. I don't know about living in the desert, but pretty neat seeing sheep have the opportunity for a round or two whenever they want. Send some of that 80 degrees our way.

Sharon, I heard that rural airports love sheep because they do not need to cut the grass and the sheep might be doing the same thing here? Just wondering, Endre
